We live on a small acreage outside of Quinter, Kansas, and we enjoy working in the beauty of God's nature. Our farm is the starting point for every product that ends up in your hands.

For us, being self-sufficient is something we've always strived for — and that's exactly how Reed's Bees began.

Two Hives and a Big Idea

2012

In 2012, we brought home two hives of honey bees and have grown our apiary every year since. As time went on, we became more intrigued by these remarkable insects and began selling local honey as a way to give back. Beyond honey, we discovered several other healthy byproducts of bees — and we started wondering how they could impact our health, too.

This labor of love is equal parts rewarding and demanding. The seasons of planting, tending, harvesting, and processing herbs — along with the Kansas climate — puts real stress on your hands. When Connie began getting cracks on her fingertips, we weren't surprised, but we knew we had to act. We started with beeswax, since we had it in abundance, and began researching how to make something that prevents the problem — not just cures it — using what nature already gave us.

Born from Need

We knew herbs had powerful health benefits, but when we tried purchasing them, we quickly realized they didn't meet our standards. They weren't harvested, dried, or processed in a way that preserved their potency. So we decided to grow and wild-harvest our own. After considerable research and tinkering, we created our first product — the Lotion Bar. It worked. And it turned out hands were only the beginning.

From Two Hives to a Full Line

What started with two hives and a lotion bar is now a complete collection of all-natural, handcrafted products — healing salves, lip balms, deodorants, bar soap, and creamed honey. Every one of them made on our farm with the same care, the same standards, and the same belief that started it all.
